Show Your Child the Love of Christ

The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Let us partner with you to establish a Christian foundation in your child’s life, to help your family grow closer together in your walk with Christ.

The Importance of Family at Our Church

In today’s world, it feels like the importance of family is slipping away, even in church communities. At FHMV, we believe that keeping family together is essential. After all, God created families, and He wants to see us grow together in our walk with Him. That’s why we equip parents, teens, and kids with the tools to prosper at home. Traditional family values are more important than ever. And we can build a stronger foundation when we apply Biblical principals.

Read below for the many ways we’re helping kids and families connect, grow, and learn about Jesus every time they walk through the doors.

EDUCATION

A solid Christian foundation begins with education. This is why we strive to provide excellent opportunities for your child to learn and grow in their knowledge of Jesus. Our Sunday class times (Sunday School and Junior Church) are filled with singing, Bible reading, lessons, games, and more. We offer several classes to allow the kids to engage with their age group.

Wednesdays we focus on the Kids 4 Truth Program, which incorporates age-appropriate Bible study, games, music, and more. Please see the FAQ’s below for more on our brand new kids program.

SUNDAY mornings 9:45 am & 10:45 am, wednesdays 6:45 pm

EVENTS

We offer various family-friendly events throughout the whole year, including our annual Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, July 4th’s Fun in the Son-Day, Fall Family Cookout, October’s Harvest Carnival, and many more. This connects our church families and provides an opportunity for outreach in our community.

During the summer, we host our Kids Club every Wednesday to continue to provide your child with regular Bible study (it’s like VBS every Wednesday!).

happening all year, see below for upcoming events

NURSERY

For our smallest attendees at FHMV, we provide quality nursery care during our main Sunday services for ages 0-3. Children will be cared for in our special nursery that includes constant supervision and plenty of age-appropriate toys for playtime. For toddlers, workers may read Bible stories and provide parent-approved snacks and juice.

Have questions about our nursery workers or want to know more about this service? Please feel free to reach out to us at any time— our nursery workers will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Special worship time for children ages 4-12 is available during the Sunday morning services. Individual Sunday School classes are available, separated by age groups. We begin the main worship service together with all age groups combined. Children are then dismissed for Junior Church, which is designed to give your child the opportunity to learn about Christ in an engaging way. We do this through music, games, and a Bible lesson.

Each Wednesday evening during the school year, our brand new Kids 4 Truth program is available for children K-6th starting at 6:45 PM, located in the children’s room (the neighboring building to our church). Our desire is to see more of the heart of Jesus as we serve the children of our church and community.

Our Kids 4 Truth nights begin with icebreaker games to get the children’s hearts and minds ready for study. We then divide our kids by age group, and begin our Bible lesson. For the 2023/2024 school year, we are alternating monthly between games and music. Each month has it’s own theme, and we encourage children to dress up accordingly (don’t worry, we will notify and remind parents of upcoming themes!). We will also tie together our theme with whatever activities we have going on that month in the Kids 4 Truth program.

More about the curriculum used: The Kids 4 Truth curriculum has a very defined scope and sequence. The curriculum is broken up into twelve key doctrines of our faith. Each of these doctrinal themes contain ten question and answers along with supporting Bible verses. The curriculum is available in four age levels designed to cover all twelve doctrinal themes. This knowledge is repeated and deepened in every level of learning in order to give these children a firm grasp of basic Bible doctrine and a solid framework whereby to base all other life decisions. As the child progresses through the four levels, the same doctrines will be studied more thoroughly and with the purpose of deepening each child’s understanding and appreciation of God’s truth.

We do allow parents to drop children off for our Sunday services and Wednesday program. Please let us know ahead of time if you are planning to drop off your child. We also ask that you please arrive on time to pick up your child, to respect our workers availability.

Please note: If your child has special needs, we kindly ask to communicate that to our staff. We are willing, and desire to work with children of all backgrounds and needs, but we must understand how to provide accordingly. In some cases, we may ask parents to be present, in case we need assistance. Thank you for understanding!

Our kids and family events are completely free of charge, including VBS, the Harvest Carnival, and our seasonal cookouts. We also provide all the book materials needed for our Kids 4 Truth program. In the event we host anything that is in need of a small coverage fee, parents will be notified in advance and provided with details. This typically is the case with some of our teen activities, and not necessarily kids events.

YES! We welcome guests and visitors, and would love to have the opportunity to share the gospel. We encourage everyone to invite friends and family to join in our services and special events.
