Helping Everyone Understand God’s Message
No one should be denied the gospel. We believe that the deaf community is a valuable part of our church and consistently provide opportunities for the deaf to grow their faith and understand God’s message of salvation.
The Importance of Deaf Outreach
The deaf is one of the most overlooked communities when it comes to outreach. Many do not know sign language or how to reach the hearing impaired. Unfortunately, that means that many deaf people go through life without ever knowing God’s word. At FHMV, we provide interpreters for every service and event, because we believe that no one should be left behind.
Our interpreters (as well as our Pastor) work hard to connect with our deaf attendees and continue to build their knowledge of ASL. The key is to help the deaf understand Christ’s message and encourage everyone to spread the gospel. We love our deaf community!
In addition, we host events and travel opportunities for the deaf, from dinners to conferences. If you know anyone that is hearing impaired, we strongly encourage you to invite them to our next church service!
How We Help the Deaf Community
1. All Services Interpreted
Interpreters for the deaf are provided at every church service on Sundays and Wednesdays. Additionally, we offer a special Sunday morning service for deaf only, located in our secondary building.

2. Events and Opportunities
To provide extra fellowship for our deaf attendees, we host year-round events and travel opportunities to connect our community. We encourage hearing people to attend many of these events as well, to learn more about ASL and help us spread the gospel to the hearing impaired.

3. Support of Deaf Missionaries
To reach the deaf community, our church supports deaf missionaries on the field. We welcome any missionaries willing to share their story with our congregation, in order that we can help bring more people to Jesus.
